Job Description

As a Senior Scientist, Translational Science, you will play a key scientific leadership role in driving and coordinating day-to-day non-clinical research activities across WhiteLab

Genomics’ programs. Reporting to the Head of Translational Science, you will contribute to the design, the validation, and the advancement of non-clinical strategies supporting the development of next-generation gene and cell therapies.

This role involves leading and contributing to preclinical studies aimed at validating internal technology and novel biological assets, including viral and non-viral vectors, cell-type– specific expression cassettes, and in silico models.

Your work will directly support critical go/no-go decisions and the progression of WhiteLab’s therapeutic portfolio.

You will work in close collaboration with internal cross-functional teams, particularly

computational biology and platform scientists, as well as external partners and CROs, to

ensure the robust design, execution, and interpretation of non-clinical studies. Beyond

execution, you will bring senior scientific judgment, ensuring data quality, translational

relevance, and alignment with program objectives in a fast-evolving gene and cell therapy landscape.

Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact

Non-Clinical Study Design & Execution

• Proactively contribute to the design, the planning, and the execution of studies to

characterize and validate molecular libraries and engineered vectors, focusing on

critical parameters such as transduction efficiency, biodistribution, and expression

specificity.

• Collaborate with teams to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies

to ensure project continuity and success.

• Explore and propose cutting-edge experimental technologies to enhance molecular

characterization and advance assets to the preclinical stage.

• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external collaborators to ensure

studies are executed in alignment with WhiteLab Genomics' project management

standards and best practices.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on solving complex challenges, takes ownership of their work, and actively contributes to advancing our scientific programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with WhiteLab’s computational scientists to integrate insights from in silico

drug design pipelines into experimental designs and datasets.

• Coordinate experimental work outsourced to external partners, ensuring timely and

successful execution.

• Collaborate with internal departments to align experimental research with broader

company goals and objectives.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Work closely with computational scientists to analyze and interpret experimental

data, generating actionable insights to drive scientific and strategic decision-
making.

• Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and publications to communicate

findings effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of data across all research activities.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in gene and cell therapy

delivery, proposing the integration of the latest innovations into non-clinical

research activities.

Preferred Experience

• You hold a PhD or are a highly experienced engineer in Molecular Biology, or a

related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience in gene therapy, or closely related

biotechnological applications in industry (start up environment is a plus).

• You have demonstrated leadership in the design, execution, and interpretation of in

vitro and in vivo studies, with a strong command of vector development, delivery

systems, and translational relevance. You are comfortable making high-impact

scientific trade-offs and recommendations.

• You have a solid track record of leading and governing collaborations with CROs and

external partners, ensuring scientific rigor, timelines, and alignment with program

objectives.

• You are able to challenge, advise, and influence program direction, bringing senior-
level scientific judgment together with execution.

• You have Experience leveraging computational biology or data-driven approaches to

optimize biological assets, vector design, or gene therapy delivery is a valuable

asset, though not mandatory.
