Job Description

Role Overview

As Head of People, you will lead the design and execution of WhiteLab’s people strategy to support our scale-up phase.

You will ensure that our organization has the talent, structure, and performance systems required to deliver on our scientific, technological, and business ambitions.

You will act as a strategic partner to leadership and a strong operator, building robust, scalable HR foundations across talent, performance, compensation, and people operations.

You will manage a lean People team (People Operations & Talent Management) and work in close collaboration with Leadership, as well as Marketing (employer branding) and Finance & Payroll (compensation) to ensure consistency and scalability of people practices.


Here’s How You’ll Make an Impact

1. People Strategy & Organizational Scaling

  • Define and implement a people strategy aligned with company objectives and growth trajectory

  • Support leadership in organizational design, role clarity, and capability building

  • Support leadership in anticipating workforce needs and ensure scalable team structures

2. Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

  • Own and optimize the end-to-end talent strategy, from hiring to development and retention

  • Ensure high-quality recruitment processes and onboarding practices, aligned with business priorities

  • Strengthen WhiteLab’s employer brand and employee experience, in collaboration with Marketing

  • Partner with leadership on strategic workforce planning and capability development

3. Performance & Career Development

  • Lead the design and execution of performance management frameworks

  • Ensure clarity, fairness, and consistency in evaluation processes

  • Support managers in performance conversations and development plans

  • Maintain and evolve career paths and progression frameworks

4. Compensation & Benefits

  • Design and manage competitive and scalable compensation frameworks

  • Ensure alignment with market benchmarks and internal equity

  • Drive bonus and incentive processes in line with company performance

  • Partner closely with Finance and Payroll on budget alignment, execution, and compliance

5. Learning & Capability Development

  • Structure and deploy targeted learning and development initiatives

  • Support managers in building high-performing, autonomous teams

  • Identify and close capability gaps critical to company growth

6. People Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure robust HR operations, policies, and processes

  • Guarantee compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards

  • Oversee HR tools, data quality, and reporting

  • Continuously improve efficiency and scalability of HR processes

7. Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience

  • Support company-wide culture efforts led by the Chief of Staff

  • Act as a culture ambassador, ensuring alignment with company values in HR practices

  • Contribute to engagement and employee experience initiatives

Preferred Experience

  • Proven experience in a Head of People / Senior HR leadership role, ideally in a scale-up or tech/scientific environment

  • Strong track record in building HR foundations in growing organizations

  • Expertise in performance management, compensation, and talent management

  • Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels

  • Excellent communication, structuring and stakeholder management skills

  • Strong business acumen and ability to partner with senior leadership

  • Experience managing complex organizational dynamics and change
