Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to build and then lead our legal department from the ground up.

This role is crucial for ensuring that Qantev operates within the legal parameters of a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of commercial laws, data protection regulations (DPO and GDPR), compliance matters, and the unique challenges faced by tech companies - all on a very international scope

What you will do 👊**

  • Establish Legal Framework: Build and implement legal processes and policies that support the company’s growth and operational goals.

  • Commercial Law Expertise: Provide legal advice on contracts, commercial transactions, and partnerships, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.

  • Data Protection & Compliance: Oversee and ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection laws, including acting as the Data Protection Officer (DPO).

  • Legal Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring a proactive approach to legal issues.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Corporate, Sales, Product, etc.) to support business objectives and align legal strategies with operational needs.

  • Policy Development: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents, ensuring they meet the company’s standards and protect its interests.

  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs on legal compliance and best practices for employees across the organization.

  • External Counsel Coordination: Manage relationships with external legal counsel and oversee any outsourced legal work.

Preferred Experience

Who you are 😀

  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, with a solid background gained in a corporate law firm.

  • We are seeking a versatile professional well-versed in handling a diverse range of legal matters, including contract management, GDPR compliance, Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP), intellectual property (IP), and data privacy topics. This adaptability will be crucial to address the varied legal needs of our growing business.

  • Strong ability to juggle multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced and global environment.

  • Being comfortable working independently is key, at least for the first few months.

  • Fluency in both French and English, which is essential for our international operations.
