Job Description

Neurobus is developing cutting-edge vision solutions and systems, leveraging neuromorphic technologies to enhance the intelligence and efficiency of embedded devices and robots in the Space and Defense sectors. A crucial challenge is designing and industrializing efficient, robust, and integrated custom payloads that host a variety of sensors and processing platforms.

We seek an experienced and highly motivated Senior System Engineer to join our growing engineering team and lead our vision payloads' definition, development, and industrialization. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of embedded vision systems and contribute to impactful projects.

Preferred Experience

As a Senior System Engineer at Neurobus, you will:

  • Lead Payload Development: Drive the design, development, and prototyping of Neurobus’ vision payloads.

  • Customer Engagement: Participate in customer/prospect meetings, contributing to the clarification of use cases and requirements.

  • Define Specifications: Lead the definition and negotiation of payload specifications, aligning with product and technical needs.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with artificial intelligence experts to iterate on design and architecture choices.

  • Concept Demonstration: Contribute to the design and development of payload concept demonstrators.

  • Optimize Performance: Using short iterative cycles, explore and implement approaches for improving performance indicators, including processing speed and low power consumption.

  • Stay Current: Monitor advancements in conventional and neuromorphic system design.

  • Drive Industrialization: Lead the definition of validation plans for vision products.

  • Build Partnerships: Contribute to building a strong partner ecosystem to support the industrialization of embedded vision products.

  • Resource Planning: Contribute to defining the resource allocation plan related to system developments.

  • Mentor & Guide: Contribute to the recruitment and mentorship of junior collaborators.

What you will bring

  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in system engineering with a focus on embedded systems.

  • Proven experience with real-time processing on microcontrollers and/or embedded Linux platforms.

  • Strong experience in interfacing vision sensors with embedded platforms.

  • Experience negotiating specifications with external customers/partners.

  • Experience with the industrialization of embedded vision platforms.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

  • Fluency in English.

Bonus points:

  • 10+ years of experience in the embedded vision industry.

  • Experience with neuromorphic hardware.

  • Experience with custom driver development.

  • Experience with mechanical integration and 3D printing.

  • Experience with PCB design.

  • Experience with edge AI acceleration techniques.

  • Experience with FPGA development.

Recruitment Process

Position details

This position is in Paris, with the option of working remotely up to 2 days per week following the initial training period. Limited travel may be required for customer meetings, conferences, or internal company events within France or internationally.

Interview Process

  1. Initial Interview (30 min - virtual): Introduction to Neurobus and the role, discussion about your background, experience, and motivations.

  2. Technical Interview (60 min - virtual or on-site): Deep dive into your simulation expertise, review past projects, and technical questions tailored to your skills.

  3. Case Study (optional - remote or live): A practical exercise to assess your ability to design and optimize a simulation relevant to our needs.

  4. Final Interview (45 min - on-site or virtual): Meet with a senior leader to discuss your vision and team fit and answer any remaining questions.
