Senior System Architect - Counter UAS

About

At Neurobus, we develop intelligent vision systems powered by neuromorphic technologies to enable ultra-energy-efficient embedded intelligence, allowing autonomous systems to perceive, navigate, and respond in real time across drones, defense, and space.

Job Description

Neurobus is developing cutting-edge vision solutions and systems, leveraging neuromorphic technologies to enhance the intelligence and efficiency of embedded devices and robots in the Defense and Space sectors. A crucial challenge is designing and industrializing efficient, robust, and integrated custom payloads that host a variety of sensors and processing platforms.

We seek an experienced and highly motivated Senior System Engineer to join our growing engineering team and lead our vision payloads' definition, development, and industrialization. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of embedded vision systems and contribute to impactful projects.

As a Senior System Engineer at Neurobus, you will:

  • Architect cUAS systems: Own the architecture definition of cUAS systems, spanning from detection & tracking to neutralization, targeting different usage environments and with a key attention to end-to-end latency and reliability.

  • Lead Payload Development: Drive the specification and development of Neurobus’ perception and guidance intelligent systems, aligning with product and engineering needs.

  • Optimize Performance: Using short iterative cycles, explore and implement approaches for improving performance indicators, including accuracy, reaction times and power consumption.

  • Foster External Engagement: Participate in partners/customers/prospects meetings, contributing to the clarification of use cases, requirements and interfaces.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionnally: Work closely with artificial intelligence experts and product owners to iterate on design and architecture choices.

  • Guide Technology and Team Maturity: Contribute to the recruitment and mentorship of junior collaborators, to the engineering roadmap definition and the industrialization of the technology.

  • Stay Current: Monitor state-of-the-art evolutions in drone detection, tracking and neutralization systems.

Preferred Experience

Required:

  • Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in system engineering, with a focus on counter-UAS, defense systems, or autonomous robotics systems.

  • Proven experience in designing and developing complex vision-based AI systems.

  • Experience negotiating requirements and interfaces with external customers/partners.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

  • Fluency in English.

Bonus points:

  • 10+ years of experience in the context of real-time systems featuring embedded vision and AI.

  • Experience with the industrialization process of embedded vision platforms.

  • Experience with neuromorphic hardware components (e.g. Brainchip Akida processor, Prophesee event vision sensors, etc).

  • Experience with agile development methodologies

Recruitment Process
