Job Description

Neurobus is developing cutting-edge vision solutions and systems, leveraging neuromorphic technologies to enhance the intelligence and efficiency of edge devices and robots in the Space and Defense sectors.

Because neuromorphic technologies are groundbreaking, we’re navigating uncharted territory. This emerging field demands meticulous analysis, innovative integration strategies, and continuous optimization to unlock its revolutionary potential. That’s why we’re seeking a dedicated Edge Platform Engineer to be at the heart of these pioneering efforts.

We’re looking for a passionate and rigorous engineer who thrives on complex challenges and is driven to build what’s next. You’ll play a key role in developing our state-of-the-art embedded systems, integrating and optimizing cutting-edge neuromorphic sensors and processors.

This is a unique opportunity to not only work with game-changing technology but to actively shape its application, contribute to foundational development, and see your work directly impact the future of autonomous systems in critical domains.

If you’re excited by the prospect of making neuromorphic vision a reality in demanding, real-world applications, this role is for you.

Preferred Experience

🎯 What You’ll Do

As a key member of our engineering team, you will:

  • Architect, design, and develop a highly efficient embedded platform environment for our neuromorphic vision systems, optimizing for image/event data quality, minimal bandwidth usage, and ultra-low latency – critical for real-time decision-making in Space and Defense applications.

  • Implement, refine, and champion data coding standards and system communication protocols (e.g., for event-based data, sensor fusion), contributing to their evolution and ensuring seamless integration with partner technologies.

  • Drive innovation in embedded software design, from low-level driver interactions to application-layer logic, helping position Neurobus at the forefront of Edge AI technology.

  • Collaborate closely with system architects, hardware engineers, AI/ML specialists, and product managers to translate research and requirements into robust, deployable edge solutions.

  • Lead the validation and iterative optimization of developed systems through hands-on testing, performance profiling, and in-depth analysis to meet extreme reliability and performance demands.

  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of the edge platform, from requirements analysis and conceptual design through to deployment and field support, directly influencing our product roadmap.

🧑‍💻 What You’ll Bring

  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in edge processing, robotics, or related fields.

  • Hands-on expertise with embedded Linux kernel customization (Yocto, Buildroot) and V4L2 custom driver development.

  • Knowledge of sensor interfacing protocols (MIPI CSI-2, SPI, I2C) and low-level software-hardware interaction.

  • Strong programming skills in C and/or C++, with a deep understanding of memory management, interrupts, and other software-hardware interactions in resource-constrained environments.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly.

  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Bonus Points

  • Experience in aerial robotics, space, or defense industries.

  • Familiarity with neuromorphic components and event-based vision sensors (EVS/DVS/DAVIS).

  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) beyond basic usage (task scheduling, IPC, synchronization).

  • Hands-on bare-metal/RTOS microcontroller development (STM32, ARM Cortex-M, FreeRTOS).

  • Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.

  • Contributions to open-source projects, particularly in embedded or robotics fields and/or the Linux kernel.

🌱 Benefits & Perks

  • A supportive and flexible work environment where innovation and growth are mutually reinforcing.

  • Comprehensive health insurance.

  • Regular team events, including afterworks and off-sites.

  • Stock options (BSPCE) and performance-based bonuses.

  • Relocation support for international candidates.

  • A culture where ambitious ideas become reality while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Recruitment Process

  • Screening Call (45 min) – Introductory video call with our CTO.

  • Online Test – Short coding/technical assessment.

  • Technical Interview (1h30) – In-depth discussion with the CTO and engineering team.
