Internship - Cell Biology & Process Engineering

About

Faircraft is a venture backed company developing a sustainable alternative to conventional leather.

Leveraging advanced cellular culture and material science techniques, we are putting ground breaking science at the service of the environment and designers across the world through a material that is both highly sustainable and exciting to work with.

Job Description

Within the Bioprocess team, this 6‑month internship will focus on improving and streamlining processes linked to 2D and 3D cell culture harvesting. You will work along two key research directions designed to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure compliance with our cruelty-free principles.

Development of cell detachment processes in 2D & 3D culture
The goal of this project is to identify, optimise and validate cost‑effective cell-detachment agents or methods that perform efficiently in both 2D and 3D culture systems.

Reuse and optimization of 3D cell culture material
The internship aims to design a protocol allowing reuse of the 3D cell culture material without compromising performance.

You will be involved in:

  • Designing and performing experimental plans involving cell culture and imaging techniques

  • Analyzing the data and writing reports of the experiments

  • Presenting the results to our research teams and key shareholders.

Preferred Experience

Final‑year engineering or master’s student (M2) with a background in Cell biology or Biochemistry.

  • Prior hands-on experience with cell culture is advantageous but not essential.

  • Proficiency in English
