About

We believe in a more responsible way of flying. At Estuaire, our mission is to empower aerospace companies to reduce their climate impact.

We collaborate with stakeholders across the aviation industry — including airlines, airports, lessors, and financiers — to address aviation’s role in climate change, which has contributed approximately 4% to anthropogenic global warming. With expertise in non-CO2 emissions and a strong focus on contrail mitigation, we are dedicated to making aviation more sustainable.

Joining Estuaire means stepping into a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where you’ll work closely with clients to drive impactful initiatives. If you are motivated to make a real difference and thrive in an early-stage company where much remains to be built, we’d love to hear from you.

Job Description

You will be part of the technical team within Estuaire and work closely with our collaborators in charge of technology. This Data Scientist role will cover the following responsibilities:

  • Data Science & Data Engineering - embed our climate expertise into killer products

    • Enhance our data platform by building scalable ETL pipelines and integrating new aviation and climate data sources.
    • Develop and deploy advanced algorithms to analyze & reduce emissions, contrails, and climate impacts using AI, optimization, and high-performance computing.
    • Deliver climate intelligence through APIs, automated data pipelines, and client reports, ensuring access to insights for customers.
  • Aviation Climate Science - bring Estuaire’s expertise through the roof

    • Together with our academic & industrial partners, build & deploy state of the art climate models for aviation based on scientific research
    • Develop the company expertise on the non-CO2 effects of aviation such as contrails, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI), Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) & aircraft performance modeling

Preferred Experience

We are looking for the following qualifications but do not worry if not matching all of them :

Must-have:

  • 3-4 years of experience, as an engineer or scientist, in an aerospace/aviation company

  • Strong data science skills, including efficient Python and SQL programming, with experience in Pandas, PyTorch, and TensorFlow and good coding practices.

  • Proven ability to work with large set of unstructured and structured tabular data (using python or spark)

  • Experience building automated data pipelines & deploying on cloud infrastructures (GCP, Git, Docker, Apache Dataflow, Big Query, FastAPI).

  • Candidate should be curious, autonomous and a reliable team player with interest for aviation, sustainability & impact

  • Fluent in french is a plus but not necessary, we speak day to day in english

  • Experience with flight and weather data, and a high-level understanding of flight physics

  • Familiar with the concepts of infrastructure as code, devops, and data architecture pattern

Recruitment Process

  • A first interview with a data scientist (30min) :

Get-to-know and discussion about experience, motivation and interests

Short technical challenge “e.g. how does an airplane fly?”

  • A second interview with a member of the sales team (30min)

Get-to-know and discussion about experience, motivation and interests

Home work data case to be presented in the next round

  • A third interview with the cofounders (1h):

Technical case to present around data science & aerospace engineering
