KOLIBRI is an early-stage deep-tech biotech start-up backed by Entrepreneur First. Its aim is to unlock the potential of gene therapies and next-generation vaccines by rethinking the bioproduction of biologics, starting with viral vectors.

Viral vector manufacturing remains the blocking point to scale up and make gene therapies and viral vector-based vaccines more affordable and accessible.

To that end, KOLIBRI makes large-scale viral vector manufacturing 10x cheaper and 2x faster combining cutting edge techniques in chemical optimisation and acoustics.

Job Description

KOLIBRI is looking for a Business Development Intern to support the development of its biotech and pharma customer portfolio.

Joining a multidisciplinary deep-tech start-up based in Paris, you will need to show inventiveness, creativity and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Your responsibilities will include:​

  • Identify and map potential customers (i.e. biotechs producing gene therapies and viral vectors)
  • Assist the CEO into developing & maintaining KOLIBRI customers portfolio
  • Contribute to the preparation of key meetings with customers
  • Continuously refine biotechs' painpoints and bottlenecks regarding their process development and viral vector supply needs
  • Support the CEO in accordingly adapting the company's strategic positioning and pitch deck
  • Possibly contribute to adapting the sales/financial roadmap side by side with the CEO

Preferred Experience

Above all, the person needs to be excited about the mission of the company, and needs to be driven, curious and resilient. Candidates should have the skills/qualities listed below:

  • Enrolled in a Business or Engineering track
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French and English
  • Experience with Excel and Powerpoint

Nice to haves, which are huge plus include:

  • Prior experience in Business Development and Sales
  • Deep understanding of the biotech space (specifically the cell and gene therapy market)

Recruitment Process

  • Background check through 1 – 2 reference calls between CEO and former managers & managees of the candidate
