Country Manager Spain


Fintecture is a payment infrastructure offering immediate transfer, allowing merchants to collect payments easily.

Launched in 2020, the idea was born out of a simple analysis and yet ignored by all: traditional payments are too complex for merchants and a source of uncertainty for payers.

So, we took a crazy bet: reinventing the payment ecosystem by tackling the technological architecture of payments. Our role is to bring innovative solutions to an industry monopolised by historical players.

We have grown from a team of 7 to over 80 motivated and determined talents to rewrite the history of the payments’ industry. This team has enabled us to sign some fifteen big accounts, ranging from large retail such as Auchan and Leroy Merlin, to business services such as Edenred and Groupe Up, and even tech giants, in just six months.

In 2022, we are raising a total of $29m with the objective of positioning ourselves as the leader of account-to-account payments, doubling our business-volume every two months.

Job Description

To support Fintecture’s strategy and our international expansion, we are looking for a “Country Manager” to kick-start Fintecture’s business in the Spanish market.

By joining our team as a Country Manager, your role will be crucial to launch and grow business in Spain.

The position involves defining the right go-to-market strategy, acquiring the first customers, and ensuring that these customers are successful with Fintecture. This is both a very hands-on and strategic role that involves being able to build a strategy, managing performance, and leading the team.

You will report to our CEO and work hand-in-hand with the Paris teams (Sales, Marketing, Product, Tech, People, General Management…). The position is based in Spain ( remote / flexible work accepted).

🎯 About your responsibilities

You will be in charge of:

Defining strategy and business development:

  • Build the country strategy and launch commercial operations in Spain as our first employee;
  • Develop and implement a customer acquisition strategy and build relationships with strategic partners;
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder relations and negotiate contracts;
  • Share customer insights to the Customer Success team.
  • Develop the brand in the local ecosystem by developing a B2B portfolio and open new accounts;

Managing and reporting the growth:

  • Oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and set performance objectives;
  • Measure performance and return on investment;
  • Perform regular benchmarks to adapt, stay ahead of the competition and suggest evolutions;
  • Be expert of your market, understand the needs;
  • Ensure complete compliance with local regulations;

Managing team:

  • Help with the strategy and implementation of the hiring process for the creation of a solid Country team (defining job positions, hiring process, and training team members);
  • Build your team as the country grows!

Preferred Experience

🏆 About you

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working at similar position (Country Launcher, Country Manager or Business Developer…), ideally a first-hand “Spain Launcher” experience with B2B customers in a fast-growing SaaS company, a payment Fintech is a plus;
  • Previous experience implementing successful go-to-market strategies;
  • High level of familiarity with the Spanish market and business culture from working or living in Spain;
  • Good understanding of the SaaS model of business mechanisms and Sales processes;
  • Strong ability to convince and negotiate, enthusiasm and perseverance;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a taste for challenge, autonomous and efficient;
  • Native or fluent in Spanish and English. French is a plus.
