Historically, the IT department was responsible for the implementation of applications within their organisation. But as a result of the digital transformation, companies are now using hundreds of different applications. Business teams are operating on their own initiative to implement technologies through SaaS, in a decentralised way, without bringing IT into the loop. This explosion of apps is out of control, creating serious security and compliance issues.
Beamy helps large enterprises to detect and manage their underground digitalisation while structuring a framework for decentralised IT governance.
Today, many large companies still underestimate the impact of their SaaS stack. Beamy’s goal is to make IT democratisation one of the top priorities of large enterprises in Europe and across the world. Beamy has a dedicated model to address large groups, in different industries (bank, insurance, retail, etc.), which is a large key differentiator on the market.
In the coming year, we will recruit 50 new talents, reinforce our engineering team to continue building the best product possible, and accelerate our global expansion - especially in the UK and the US! As we continue to grow and scale, it is critical for us to preserve Beamy’s core culture. As an Engineering Manager, your main focus is to make people grow while delivering the best features for our users. You’ll mentor your team to deliver high-quality work, make the right trade-off to send the right product to the market at the right time and collaborate with the other squads to ensure a good alignment in the team from a product and a technical perspective.
Your missions will be among the following:
➡ Management (60%)
Build, manage, mentor and lead teams with 1:1 and OKR
Work with People team to attract, hire, onboard and retain diverse top talent
Support career development and training of engineers in your teams
Work with engineers to grow their technical, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and ensure they have the right challenges and necessary context to make use of them
Ensuring the company mission and vision is communicated effectively and translated into team roadmaps
➡ Tech and Process (30%)
Contribute to the overall engineering at Beamy
Providing an environment for significant product and system innovation and improvement
Proactively ensure that security, reliability, performance and cost-efficiency are included in technical and architectural discussions
Keep up to date with the latest relevant technologies, continually evaluating their use for Beamy
➡ Delivery (10%)
Ensure that all projects allocated to your teams run to time and budget with our two Team Lead
Actively question decisions and provide guidance and own experience to ensure no stone is left unturned and risks are identified and highlighted
▶ You have at least 2 years of experience in managing software teams of 10+ engineers, and in total a minimum of 6 years experience in Engineering.
▶ You have excellent communication skills to build relationships, trust, and respect
▶ You love developing and growing people
▶ You have a solid background in technology with demonstrable career progression through roles with increasing technical proficiency
▶ You have strong interest for engineering practices and proven track record driving change
▶ You have good technical architectural skills
▶ You're able to lead by example, hands-on when needed
▶ You're comfortable in dealing with change and uncertainty during the software development lifecycle
▶ You have very good knowledge about Agile development practices
▶ You're acting as a role model under delivery and time pressures across multiple stakeholders
